Options Secondary Program is an alternative program supporting students who may have struggled in a traditional school. Many of our students require additional supports for mental health concerns, regulating emotions and learning, skill building and practicing appropriate behaviors. Options Secondary Program serves alternative learners, expelled youth, and students needing “a bit more support” in grades 6-12. In addition to a rigorous academic curriculum, Options employs a strong social-emotional component designed to meet the needs of each student. Options supports students as they develop academic and social competence in an atmosphere that encourages and supports self-regulation and direction. The teacher in this role teaches our nine-week ONWARD Social/Emotional Skill-Building class as an orientation for all incoming high school students at Options. Options is a collaborative program where flexibility is valued and relationships are key.

Contacts: Daily Contact with students, instructional staff, classified staff, building administrators and parents.
