Key Responsibilities:
Reception Duties:
Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally.
Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and inquiries promptly.
Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments efficiently.
Maintain a clean and welcoming front desk area.
Assist patients with completing necessary forms and documents.
Insurance Coordination:
Verify patient insurance benefits and coverage prior to appointments.
Communicate with patients regarding their insurance coverage, benefits, and any out-of-pocket costs.
Obtain pre-authorizations for procedures when necessary.
Administrative Tasks:
Collect payments, issue receipts, and maintain accurate financial records.
Prepare and manage patient charts while ensuring confidentiality.
Coordinate referrals and ensure proper documentation is sent and received.
Maintain accurate logs for insurance claims, pre-authorizations, and payments.
Audit patient schedules and records for completeness and accuracy.
Marketing Duties:
Assist the office manager with marketing efforts to promote practice growth.
Visit established referring offices to help build and maintain strong relationships.
Engage with potential referring offices to establish new relationships and business opportunities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary training in dental or medical administration is a plus.
Experience:
A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a dental or medical office setting, preferably in oral surgery.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with dental/medical practice management software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with insurance portals and electronic claim submissions.
Soft Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
