What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Manager position at Liv Breads Artisan Bakery and Coffee Bar?
Liv Breads is hiring a Facilities Manager who is responsible for ensuring all Liv Breads’ locations are optimized, safe, and clean. In this position, you will be responsible for the operations team including drivers, porters, and dishwashers. You will oversee deliveries, equipment and facilities repairs, custodial functions, vehicle maintenance, and some vendor relationships. This position has oversight over 3 discrete locations, located within a short driving distance from each other.
This is a full-time, salaried position with daytime hours, including holidays and weekends, as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operates the porter team and overall cleanliness of facilities; ensures that the facility is clean and maintained according to company policy and procedures.
- Operates the driving team and logistics of deliveries; ensures vehicle maintenance and safety.
- Manage the receiving team and oversee the process of receiving, organizing, storing, allocating and requisitioning products throughout the building.
- Acts as point person for all maintenance and repair onsite. Perform routine maintenance on facilities and repair as needed, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, fire alarm, painting, carpentry; scheduling and overseeing repairs with external vendors as needed.
- Manage external vendors, such as Eco Lab, HVAC, exterminator. Review service contracts, and coordinate maintenance and emergency appointments.
- Ensure proper security measures for the workplace are maintained.
- Prepares facilities for changing weather conditions, including snow removal and salting.
- Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly.
- Collaborates with management on budgeting for facilities needs.
- Ensures work by staff and vendors is performed satisfactorily and documents and maintains records of repair, maintenance, service.
- Recommends maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modifications.
Requirements and Skills
- 5 years leadership experience
- 5 years’ experience in a commercial or hospitality setting
- Detail-oriented, self-starter
- HVAC, plumbing, electrical knowledge is a plus
- Physical stamina to work on feet for 8 plus hours and perform some heavy-lifting tasks
- Working knowledge of Spanish; fluency preferred
