The Director of DevSecOps Engineering is a strategic and technical leader responsible for defining and executing the organization's DevSecOps vision. They oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure, fostering a culture of collaboration and automation. This role involves leading high-performing teams, driving innovation in CI / CD and infrastructure as code (IaC), ensuring operational excellence through robust monitoring and incident management, and embedding security and compliance into workflows. Proficiency with DevOps tools, scripting languages, and version control systems, along with strong communication and strategic thinking skills, are essential to align DevOps practices with business goals and support organizational growth.
Requirements :
- Define the vision and strategy for the DevOps function to align with organizational goals.
- Advocate for and implement a DevOps culture across the organization, emphasizing collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Drive innovation in CI / CD, infrastructure automation, and operational excellence.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing DevOps and QA Automation team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous learning within the team.
- Define roles and responsibilities within the DevOps team and ensure clear career paths.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable and resilient cloud or on-premises infrastructure.
- Ensure optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability of systems and infrastructure.
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of automated CI / CD pipelines.
- Ensure pipelines are secure, efficient, and support the rapid deployment of applications.
- Reduce time-to-market by streamlining build, test, and deployment processes.
- Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for all critical infrastructure and applications.
- Establish and refine incident management processes, including on-call rotations and post-mortems.
- Drive a proactive approach to system reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure DevSecOps practices are embedded into the development lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as SOC 2, HIPAA, or FedRAMP, depending on the business needs.
- Conduct regular audits and security assessments of the infrastructure.
- Identify opportunities for automation across development, QA, operations, and infrastructure to streamline SDLC processes.
- Evaluate, implement, and manage tools to improve DevOps efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in DevOps and related fields.
- Work closely with engineering, product, infrastructure and other teams to ensure seamless integration of DevOps practices.
- Act as a bridge between development and operations to improve communication and align priorities.
- Facilitate smooth handoffs and collaboration between teams during product lifecycles.
- Monitor and optimize cloud and infrastructure spending related to development.
- Create and enforce policies for resource usage to balance performance with cost efficiency.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for DevOps success (e.g., deployment frequency, mean time to recovery, stability).
- Use data to identify bottlenecks and drive improvements in processes and systems.
- Promote a feedback-driven culture to improve tools, practices, and workflows.
