We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Manager/Director with expertise in Medicare Part D data and systems to lead a team of Data Scientists and Analysts. The successful candidate will play a critical role in analyzing and interpreting complex healthcare data to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in ongoing oversight analytics tasks and to support proactive monitoring activities to identify anomalies and the potential for fraud, waste, and abuse. Key Responsibilities:Develop an annual Analytics Plan Identify the analyses to be performed each contract year; Define the purpose and benefit, the timing, and the output; and Identify anomalies or other reasons for concern. Data Management Oversight: Data is properly sorted, evaluated and prepared for transfer and storage. Systems and databases are maintained and updated as necessary. Reporting and Visualization: Create detailed reports and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences. Present data insights and recommendations to CMS leadership and other relevant parties. Collaboration and Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including policy analysts, healthcare professionals, IT specialists, and other contract leadership to ensure requirements are met and to support data-driven decision-making. Provide technical assistance and training to team members on data analysis tools and methodologies. Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with all relevant data privacy and security regulations, including HIPAA. Implement best practices for data governance and management.
Requirements
Education:Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in data science, with a focus on healthcare data analysis. * Experience in supporting data analysis within the context of fraud, waste, abuse, investigations, and audits.Experience with complex and large datasets and applying various tools and techniques for the analysis of structured and unstructured data.Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, R, and SQL. Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI. Knowledge of machine learning techniques, other AI tools, and statistical modeling. Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy. Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with Medicare prescription drug data and pricing, knowledge of Maximum Fair Price (MFP) and MFP effectuation to beneficiaries and MFP refunds, and the Part D provisions of the Inflation reduction Act (IRA).Knowledge of healthcare policy and regulatory environments.Certification in data science or related fields.
