Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. In this role, you will provide support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide clinical counseling services, including individual and group therapy sessions focused on substance abuse recovery.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients and encourage positive behavioral changes.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of client progress in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure holistic support for clients.
- Provide case management services, including referrals to community resources and support services.
- Facilitate family counseling sessions as needed to involve loved ones in the recovery process.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in substance abuse treatment methodologies and best practices.
Requirements
- A degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in substance abuse counseling or related fields is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical records management and documentation practices.
- Strong skills in case management and home community care approaches.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
