The Event Technician is responsible for taking direction to set up and operate event space equipment to support the audio-visual and production operations of the event spaces for concerts, events, and internal functions. This includes load ins/outs for large productions as well as providing technical services for events and concerts. This role functions as a technician for events of all sizes and reports to the venue’s AV Systsmes and Production Manager. The Event Technician is responsible for taking direction to set up and operate event space equipment to support the audio-visual and production operations of the event spaces for concerts, events, and internal functions. This includes load ins/outs for large productions as well as providing technical services for events and concerts. - Hotel. This position is full-time and/or part-time.
- Work with touring production crews to set up production equipment.
- Configure and/or set the venue’s AV systems.
- Configure equipment to specifications for events indicated by sales instructions and adjust accordingly to achieve guest satisfaction
- Operate audio, video, and/or lighting equipment for event, sporting, and concert productions of all types and sizes.
- Setup, tear down of audio, video, lighting, rigging, and staging equipment.
- Assist in maintenance and organization of audio, video, lighting, rigging, and staging equipment.
- This is a uniformed position, which requires the team member to be in compliance with uniformed appearance standards while on duty. Industry standard “show black” and/or “stage black” attire will be required from time to time as well.
- Work schedule is driven by business needs. You should be able to work flexible hours including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
- Ensuring the safety and security of all guests, entertainers and team members/employees
- Other duties as assigned
- The candidate for this position should be proficient in one or more of the following audio, video, rigging, and/or lighting for live event/concert production.
- Ability to analyze and interpret departmental needs and results.
- Ability to solve complex problems.
- Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures in an interruptive environment.
- Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to share or divide attention among several ongoing activities, projects or assignments
- Ability to assume responsibility for independent/self-directed action
- 2 years’ experience in AV event or concert production
- Ability to display fundamental knowledge of AV and lighting systems and equipment
- Communicate effectively and efficiently.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays
- Strong guest service skills
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a live event or concert required. Freelance, contract, touring, and staff experience included.
- You will be exposed to an alcohol and smoking environment and must be able to work in such environment.
- Must have the ability to secure and maintain licensure as required by Louisiana Gaming Control Board or any other applicable regulatory entity as may be required to perform assigned duties, or as required by Live’s operating standards.
- Must be able to lift and or push up to 80 lbs.
- Must be able to work standing, for up to 4 hours at a time.
- Must be able to work in small, confined areas.
- Must be able to bend at the waist.
- Able to work from a ladder at 8 and 12 feet.
- Must be able to reach above the head.
