As a Caregiver, you will provide essential support to individuals in their homes, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Reporting to the Home Care Supervisor, your core responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, maintaining patient care standards, and adhering to HIPAA regulations. Key Responsibilities:
1. Personal Care Assistance:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support mobility needs, including transferring clients from bed to chair and ambulation assistance.
- Provide incontinence care and maintain client hygiene.
2. Homemaking and Meal Preparation:
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.
- Plan and prepare meals according to the client’s dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Assist with grocery shopping or order groceries as needed.
3. Medication Assistance:
- Remind and monitor clients to take prescribed medications as directed by their healthcare provider.
- Document medication schedules and report any irregularities or side effects to supervisors or medical professionals.
4. Companionship and Emotional Support:
- Engage clients in meaningful conversations and recreational activities.
- Provide emotional support and ensure clients feel valued and respected.
- Observe and report changes in the client’s behavior, mood, or mental state to supervisors.
5. Transportation and Errands:
- Provide transportation for medical appointments, social events, and other essential errands.
- Assist clients with shopping, banking, or picking up prescriptions.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate daily logs of care provided, including ADLs, meal preparation, and activities.
- Record and report incidents or changes in the client’s condition, such as health concerns or injuries, to the agency or healthcare provider.
7. Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow emergency procedures, including first aid and contacting appropriate authorities.
- Respect client rights and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
