Qualifications
- 18 years of age older
- High School Diploma or GED
- A valid Texas driver's license is required at time of hire.
- Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire
- Extensive background check.
- No criminal conviction of Class B Misdemeanor or above.
ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION IS AS FOLLOWS:
- Rotating shifts (24/7/365); 12-hour shifts.
- Live Oak County Jailers. This position includes, but not limited to, assist in the monitoring and security of the Facilities’ daily operations, arrange for the safe custody and release of prisoners, and oversee the transfer of prisoners.
Pay & Benefits
Salary
- $16.00- Beginning salary for unlicensed jailer. Must be licensed within one year.
- $17.00 -After 6 months of satisfactory service for an unlicensed jailer or beginning salary for a person with a jailer’s license.
- $18.00 -After 6 months of satisfactory service with a jailer’s license.
- $20.00 -After 12 months of satisfactory service with a jailer’s license.
- $22.00- Corporal level
- $23.00- Sergeant level
- $24.00- Lieutenant level
- $25.00- Jail Administrator/Captain level
Overtime is paid after 80 hours at time and a half. Vacation and sick time are accrued at 9 hours per month with a max of 162 vacation and 810 sick.
