Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for the daily care of animals in our facility, ensuring their health and well-being while providing excellent customer service to pet owners.
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels and common areas to ensure a safe environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Assist with animal restraint during veterinary procedures as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and well-being.
- Support the veterinary team with basic tasks such as administering medications and assisting in examinations.
- Participate in training programs for dog training and behavior management as required.
- Handle heavy lifting when moving animals or cleaning equipment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in animal care, veterinary assistance, or pet sitting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and handling techniques, including animal restraint methods.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with caring for animals.
- Experience in pet grooming or dog training is a plus but not required.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.
