Lake Hopatcong Cruises is seeking hardworking individuals to join their team!
Servers are the front line of selling products, making suggestions and enhancing the customer experience. A crew member is the person who has the most interaction with customers. This interaction is essential in assuring a positive experience for customers. Quick, accurate and organized service is important. Clear communication with customers, colleagues and management also is key to solving/avoiding problems and ensuring excellent service.
Reports To: Assistant Manager, General Manager, COO, Owner
Essential Job Functions/Day to Day Responsibilities:
Each server works together to manage the entire boat dining room. As part of their jobs, servers must:
- Arrive to work on time, in clean uniform and ready to work
- Check your schedule weekly to see if there are any changes
- Make sure tables are set properly, clean and ready for customers
- Check cruise manifest for any accommodations, allergies, table setups, etc
- Thoroughly understand menu items, specials, bar offerings, and some Lake Hopatcong history
- Take and deliver drink orders in a timely, accurate fashion
- Clear tables of any evidence of consumption
- Stock station with enough service items for an entire cruise
- Exude confidence in the products, procedures and corporate policies of Lake Hopatcong Cruises.
- Accept guest payment and deliver in a timely fashion to bartender
- Make specific drink recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of galley, bathrooms, dining room, and upper deck
- Maintain buffet
- Assist staff in taking dirty dishes off boat
- Assist in the restocking, reporting and replenishment of boat inventory and supplies
- Develop an efficient work pace that keeps the guests satisfied at all times
- Loading food onto Miss Lotta before each cruise
- Perform opening and closing checklist duties
- Report all low stock, equipment problems and maintenance issues to management
- Notify management anytime a guest is not 100% satisfied with their experience
- Properly ID someone if underage or believed to be underage
- Must keep certifications up to date (i.e. CPR, First Aid, AED, Safety drills)
- Fully up to date with company details, policies, cruise descriptions, prices & schedule
