Registered Nurse (RN) - Outpatient Clinic (Part-Time / Full-Time
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient clinic team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, patient-centered environment and enjoys providing direct care to individuals of all ages.
The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Duties:
- Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
- Maintains safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Provides patient care under supervision of the physician/nurse practitioner.
- Accurately measures and records vital signs.
- Rooms patients and checks them into the system.
- Prepares patients for examinations and procedures.
- Performs routine screening tests, basic lab tests and EKGs.
- Administers injections as ordered by the provider.
- Assists the provider with exams and minor office surgery.
- Changes dressings, applies bandages and removes sutures.
- Maintains supply inventory and ensures exam rooms are stocked.
- Sterilizes instruments, performs recommended maintenance per manufacturer instructions.
- Triages phone messages, answers patient questions in accordance with established protocols and/or directs to appropriate provider for instruction.
- Provides patient education with regards to office policies, medications, management of disease, home treatments and special diets.
- Relays lab results and course of treatment to patient as directed by provider.
- Processes physician orders timely and accurately.
- Schedules referrals with outside entities, obtains insurance precertification when necessary.
- Practices OSHA standards for safety and disposal of biohazard waste.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
