What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shutdown Planner position at Livent Corporation?
Responsible for managing shutdown work requests, overseeing the backlog in SAP, planning work orders, procuring materials, and prioritizing and scheduling tasks to maximize process uptime. Develops and maintains comprehensive shutdown schedules, including capital projects, in coordination with maintenance teams, external resources, and other stakeholders. Focuses on minimizing material costs and optimizing the use of contract services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance: Support safety efforts within the maintenance department, actively participating in programs and systems to promote a safety culture at the site. Strictly adhere to safety standards, industrial hygiene, security/CTPAT requirements, and environmental policies.
Risk Mitigation: Intervene promptly when unsafe acts or conditions are encountered, ensuring the well-being of all personnel.
Auditing & Reporting: Perform Life Critical Audits and regularly audit compliance with safety standards. Promptly address any discrepancies and ensure continuous improvement in safety practices.
Business Support: Identify and coordinate contractor needs, ensuring the timely scheduling of equipment and availability of required parts for maintenance activities.
Maintenance Planning: Develop maintenance plans in alignment with plant procedures, standards, and national codes, utilizing design databases and SAP systems to acquire necessary equipment information.
Work Order Management: Evaluate incoming maintenance requests, prioritize accordingly, close out completed work orders, and maintain the RS backlog with the other maintenance planners.
Shutdown Management: Build and maintain shutdown calendars, develop maintenance schedules, and chair shutdown planning and daily update meetings. Manage contractor activities during shutdowns.
Cost Reduction: Participate in cross-functional cost reduction activities for plant-managed purchases. Recommend and implement methods to reduce maintenance costs while improving equipment performance and safety.
Quality Efforts: Support the area’s quality efforts, ensuring alignment with the site, Supply Chain, and divisional quality goals. Represent the area during quality meetings and assist with audits as needed.
Resource Coordination: Inform the manager of key maintenance and business activities to ensure that resourcing and production requirements are met in a timely manner.
Contractor Coordination: Manage and supervise contractors across various crafts during and outside of shutdowns, ensuring their work is completed according to safety standards and project timelines.
SAP and Data Management: Utilize MRP within SAP to maintain master data for plans and materials, and estimate costs related to personnel, parts, and supplies for scheduled maintenance.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent with five years of chemical process maintenance experience and general knowledge of plant systems, processes, and procedures, or
Associate’s degree with three years of maintenance or project planning experience.
Basic working knowledge of the Materials Management and Production Planning modules in SAP.
Proficiency in Excel and Word Processing software (Microsoft Office, including Access).
Willingness to learn Microsoft Project.
