The Minerva Central School District has an opening for a Library Media Specialist PK-12 (full-time regular probationary track). Qualifications include :
- Must be Library Media Specialist Certified or Literacy Certified willing to work on obtaining LMS certification.
- Excellent communications skills - proven ability to communicate effectively with staff, families and community members.
- Maintain a collection that is diverse in format and content to support the learning needs of all students.
- Recommend, create, implement and evaluate resources and activities in various formats to meet students' learning needs.
- Work collaboratively and individually to design, develop and implement programs that encourage reading for enjoyment and for information.
- Guide and assist students and staff in the use of new media and technologies.
- Model and promote effective uses of technology for learning and teaching.
- Create and maintain an inviting, attractive physical environment within the library media center.
- Participate regularly in activities within the district and community to gain support and feedback for the program and to be aware of efforts and issues beyond the building.
