CONCRETE ESTIMATOR JOB DESCRIPTION
BlackRock Construction, LLC. is looking for a Concrete Estimator to work in their fast-paced, growing organization. This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.
BlackRock pursues projects upwards of $5,000,000 for large commercial, transportation, utility, healthcare and higher education projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Regularly seek project opportunities that align with BlackRock’s market
- Attend project networking events and participate in business development activities for BlackRock’s concrete and construction divisions
- Attend pre-bid walk through
- Manage and update the concrete bid log weekly
- Review, read, and comprehend project plans and specifications
- Assess risk on potential projects
- Perform accurate detailed take off quantities from drawings utilizing take off software
- Calculate labor, equipment and materials costs required for detailed cost estimate
- Produce hard dollar cost estimates for all BlackRock concrete projects
- Solicit pricing from suppliers and subcontractors as required for bidding
- Prepare and submit bid packages on or before bid due dates
- Provide pre-bid cost budgets
- Hold turnover meeting
- Work with project management and field supervision staff with ongoing construction change order costing
- Develop progress schedules associated with bid activities.
- Analysis job cost information.
- Attend industry and client meetings and visit job sites.
Requirements:
· Extensive knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and engineering principles
· Experience estimating projects up to $5,000,000
· Commercial, institutional, industrial experience
· Computerized estimating experience
· Willingness to work long hours as needed
· Microsoft Office Suite proficient, Excel expert
Education and Experience:
· A minimum of 5 yrs. experience as a Concrete Estimator
· A minimum of 10 yrs. experience in Construction industry
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Salary : $100,607 - $127,418
