LiveWire Construction, Inc. is seeking to fill the role of Senior Project Manager for our fast-paced, growing organization. This position comes with the opportunity for professional leadership growth and development and requires a minimum of 10 yrs. experience as a Project Manager in the electrical construction industry. This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.
With office locations in Calumet Park, and Oak Brook, LiveWire pursues projects upwards of $5,000,000 for large commercial, transportation, infrastructure, healthcare, and solar projects, and is a Joint Venture partner for the exciting new Bally’s Casino project in Chicago.
The Senior Project Manager will be a leader in the department and be the owner of several concurrently running projects with an average volume of at-risk projects managed of $10M . The Senior PM will be charged with assisting in growing a strong, robust department and will lead and develop junior staff. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Independent and autonomous management of at-risk projects from preconstruction to close out consistently utilizing company processes and procedures resulting in meeting or exceeding planned profits
- Project preconstruction and planning including review of specifications and drawings, material and subcontractor buyout, and cashflow projections
- Contract review and negotiation; administration during life of the project to protect company from risk
- Identification of project impacts and delays, timely notifications per the contract documents, and detailed documentation preparation to prepare and submit claims
- Preparation of project baseline schedules and schedule updates through the life of the project; using actual versus baseline to substantiate delays and impacts as appropriate
- Change order management including scope definition and pricing
- Project financial budget vs. actuals tracking, management, and mitigation
- Field productivity tracking estimate vs. actual, and course correction to protect labor budget and project profit
- Project safety ownership including weekly audits and incident investigation and reporting; positive contributor to company safety culture
- Management and training of Project Coordinators, Assistant Project Managers, and/or Project Managers; delegation of tasks and duties to maximize management capacity and project volume managed by team
- Building and maintaining positive customer relationships resulting in repeat business
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years' experience as Electrical Project Manager
- Commercial, Institutional, Industrial and Healthcare experience
- Robust knowledge of installation of all electrical systems, with proficiency in reading plans, specifications, and installation drawings
- Estimating capabilities including labor factor analysis and modifications
- Microsoft Office Suite proficient, Excel expert
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and develop teams
- Effective and professional communication, oral and written
- Effective and timely problem-solving with the ability to make time decisions in complex situations
- Self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented
- Willingness to work long hours as needed
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or similar preferred
- Computerized estimating experience is preferred
