Our Grounds Attendant landscapes or maintains grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Performs a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: landscaping, mowing, trimming, planting, general maintenance, waste disposal, program setup and removal and snow and ice removal. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather as needed.
Grounds Attendant Overview:
· Operates vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, snow blowers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
· Cares for established lawns and flower beds by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing and removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls.
· Performs basic maintenance tasks, (Light bulb changing, drain unclogging, etc.), when needed and completes maintenance rounds on weekends and holidays.
· Relocates room and/or office furniture as requested and assumes responsibility for facility set-up and take down as requested for programs, meetings, etc.
· Provides proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, and other grounds features. This includes shoveling snow from walks, driveways, and parking lots, and spreading salt in those areas as necessary.
· Valid Driver’s License
· Ability to identify problems associated with the daily work routine and provide suggestions for correction of those problems
