Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist residents with mobility and transfers, utilizing proper lifting techniques to ensure safety.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor residents for any changes in health or behavior.
- Support residents with memory care needs by engaging them in meaningful activities and maintaining a safe environment.
- Foster a positive living environment by encouraging social interactions and participation in community events.
- Uphold resident rights by treating each individual with dignity and respect.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and report any concerns to the nursing staff.
- Collaborate with team members to develop personalized care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred, particularly in assisted living or long-term care settings.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency response protocols is advantageous.
- Familiarity with medication administration processes is a plus.
- Strong understanding of resident rights and the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and staff members.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to lift and assist residents safely while adhering to best practices for mobility support.
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred but not required.
