General Summary

The Youth pastor/leader ( ) will develop and oversee the discipleship of young people from Middle School to college. There will be a second area of responsibility based on the skillset of the individual.

This position directly reports to the Lead Pastor.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead, organize and serve all Middle School and High School ministries, events, students and family/guardian.
  • Identify and develop current and new Ministry Partners (volunteer leaders) in youth ministry
  • Increase connections and ministry to and with Dakota State University (DSU)

Secondary ( ) Responsibilities/opportunities – based on interest and skill set

The secondary ( ) responsibility will be based on your giftedness and skills. Possible options below but not limited to…

  • Worship leading/full participation
  • Missions Team
  • OTHER

Personal/Spiritual

  • Look for ways to provide Hope to the Church, the community and the people you come in contact with.
  • Be involved in the community. Ex. Volunteer, recreational sports, community groups, etc.

Administrative/Other

  • Ordination not required. However, you will be encouraged to pursue licensing in the Wesleyan Church at some point, if you are not already.
  • Provide congregational care – with the focus on teens and their families.
  • Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings
  • Attend and participate in monthly Advisory Council (Elder Board) meetings
  • Maintain and be accountable with your ministry budgets.
  • Maintain, utilize and develop social media for promotion and engagement
  • Opportunities to preach
  • Support other staff and ministries as needed
  • Support other Church functions as needed
  • Attend district or denominational events (TBD/If applicable)
  • Complete any and all required reports (TBD/If applicable)
  • Provide efficient and timely communication to areas of responsibility
  • Office hours are not set; however, they must be maintained and communicated regularly

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36,182.91 - $43,575.11 per year
