Director of Marketing
Position Profile:
The ministry role of the Director of Marketing is to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that advance the mission and vision of Living on the Edge. This individual will lead a team of marketing professionals and collaborate with other departments to increase brand awareness, audience engagement, advance development objectives, and increase product sales and resource utilization. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of success in marketing, excellent communication skills, and a deep commitment to the mission and Christian values of Living on the Edge.
Reports To: Senior Vice President – Marketing
Position Status: Full-time w/ Benefits
Location: On-site in Duluth, GA, Colorado Springs, CO, or Remote.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement integrated marketing plans encompassing digital marketing (SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing), traditional marketing (radio & print), and event marketing to reach target audiences and achieve organizational goals.
- Brand Management: Steward the Living on the Edge brand, ensuring consistent messaging and visual identity across all platforms. Develop and maintain brand guidelines.
- Digital Marketing Leadership: Direct the marketing team in managing and optimizing website traffic, social media engagement, email campaigns, and online advertising. Stay current with digital marketing trends and technologies.
- Content Marketing Strategy: Collaborate with the content team to develop and execute content marketing strategies that align with the annual marketing plan to drive brand engagement.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze marketing data to measure campaign effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions. Prepare regular reports on marketing performance.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.
- Budget Management: Manage the marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively, within established guidelines. ROI and ROA reporting is expected as part of effective budget management.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with other departments, including Operations, Product Development, and Donor Development, to ensure alignment and maximize impact. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to understand audience needs and identify trends that inform marketing strategies.
- Public Relations: Develop and manage public relations efforts to enhance the organization's reputation and visibility.
Qualifications:
- Strong Christian faith and character.
- Passion for the mission and vision of Living on the Edge.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- 7 years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and best practices, including SEO, SEM, social media marketing, email marketing, and analytics.
- Data-driven and results-oriented professional.
- Experience in the non-profit sector is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively.
