For many Living Resources employees, their work becomes an experience where they find fulfillment and develop both personally and professionally.The Residential Training Specialist is responsible for completing training with newly hired DSP’s and current DSP’s to help staff learn the skills required to become competent in their position. Training will be held in one of our many residential sites (1 : 1 or in small groups) or held at the main office in a classroom environment (1 : 1, small or large groups).Topics will include assisting managers with In-house Orientation, Person-Centered supports (boundaries / personal care), Life Skills (cooking / cleaning), along with Professional Development (working with co-workers / time management). Trainer will work closely with the Training Dept. in creating, researching, and implementing new training programs.Successful candidate will be required to present in a group setting.Salary : $45,000 annuallyTravel requiredRequirementsAssociates degree in human services, preferred but not requiredValid NYS driver’s licenseMinimum 2 years of experience supporting individuals with Developmental Disabilities in a residential settingTeaching / coaching / training experience- experience does not need to be in a professional setting. Must be comfortable teaching in small and large groups and be comfortable with training classes being recorded.Strong Communication and leadership skills.
