(1 Peter 3:15-17 (NKJV) 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; 16 having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. 17 For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.
- Leading the congregation in worship is a focal and central part of corporate worship with the congregation. The worship team and the technology team members should be publicly living a life that reflects the character of Jesus Christ daily. (Philippians 2:14-16 (ESV) 14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing, 15 that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.).
The worship director and worship team members are viewed with an assumed authorityregarding Worship. They need valuable insight into the spiritual discipline of worship. (Romans 12:1-2 (NIV2011) 1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.)
Physical Expectations:
In a desire to strive for excellence and bring worthy offerings to Christ, the worship director and the worship team members (who are serving the subsequent Sunday) are required to attend the preceding week’s practice. The technology team is not required to attend the practice, but is required, as are the worship team members to arrive at early practice on Sunday morning. (Psalm 29:2 (HCSB) 2 Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due His name; worship Yahweh in the splendor of His holiness.)
