What is a Direct Support Professional?
A Direct Support Professional (Caregiver) at Living Well Disability Services provides assistance and support to people to live well. This includes:
- Assisting people in personal cares such as eating, brushing their teeth, showering, etc.
- Supporting people to participate in the activities they enjoy... getting a cup of coffee, going for a walk, going to a movie or even a sporting event!
- Creating a welcoming home for people by keeping each persons home clean, preparing nutritious meals, and having a positive and supportive attitude with each person served and your teammates.
- Role modeling positive interactions and supporting people to have meaningful relationships
- Documenting on the services provided each day in the electronic (computer based) documentation system
What skills are required to be a Direct Support Professional?
Living Well prides itself on offering comprehensive training to Direct Support Professionals. If you are interested in providing compassionate and quality supports to people with disabilities we will provide you with the training you need to be successful. All employees at must be at least 18 years old and be able to pass a MN Department of Human Services Background Study. Applicants should be comfortable using a computer for documentation, email, and time reporting.

Where and when will I work?
We are hiring in all communities right now! Our recruiting team will work with you to find the best fit in schedule and location for you!
We provide 24 hours services, 7 days a week and have a variety of different full time and part schedules available! Most employees work a combination of some week and weekend hours.
Living Well provides services in 36 homes and In-Home Support cross several different counties:
- Hennepin: Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center, Edina, Maple Grove, Crystal, Plymouth, Long Lake, Golden Valley, Richfield
- Dakota: Eagan, Apple Valley, Burnsville, Inver Grove Heights, Mendota Heights, West St. Paul, Hastings, Rosemount
- Ramsey: Maplewood and Little Canada
- Isanti: Cambridge
- Sherburne: Big Lake
- Wright: Buffalo, Albertville
