Job Description: Works with the Network Administrator(s) and Network Engineer to assist in support of the computer network and network services including servers and tape backups. Network responsibilities include: network and user support, maintaining computer hardware (PC’s, printers, copiers, phones, and faxes) for all users; providing technical support of all hardware and desktop level applications. Assist in the support of system databases (file system layout and structure), backups, user and system support.
Position Objectives:
- Assist in the support and maintenance of the network.
- Maintenance and support of all computer equipment.
- Provide user support of all desktop level software.
- Provide user support of database applications (ministry and retail).
- Provide computer help desk support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair, install, and configure personal computers, and other related equipment.
- Perform software and application development, installation and upgrades.
- Assist users in maximizing the use of networks and computing systems.
- Provide technical support for remote sites.
- Provide technical support for online software and network programs.
- Assist in the coordination of vendors to install, repair equipment (printers, copiers, and pc’s etc).
- Assist in the coordination of vendors to install, modify, repair and or implement new software modules and or applications.
- Test, document, implement software and train and support users.
- Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of the-art technology, equipment, and software.
- Maintain pc, Pearson, and Certport labs and equipment.
- Performs other system related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Knowledgeable of Windows Server
- Familiar with TCP/IP, POP3, and DNS.
- Familiar with PIX firewalls, CISCO routers and Dell switches
- Knowledgeable/proficient with Windows 2007/XP…
- Knowledgeable/proficient with Mac hardware and software
- Ability to install, configures, and maintain PC’s, and/or related hardware and software.
- Ability to install, configure, and maintain Mac servers, imacs, etc. and all related hardware and software related to Apple products.
- Knowledge of available computing and/or network hardware and peripheral equipment.
- Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operational problems.
- Strong customer service skills and an ability to provide technical guidance and training.
- Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from and accredited four-year college or university and at least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities listed.
- Additional degree’s and certifications a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
