Job Overview
The Director Is responsible for overseeing the operational and administrative functions of Living Word Kids Academy to support the vision and mission of LWKA as established by the leadership of Living Word. Church. This includes planning, developing and implementing a comprehensive program that is Christ centered, safe, fun and educational.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Be knowledgeable of DHS minimum licensing to ensure that DHS guidelines are followed throughout the program.
- Be knowledgeable of the employee handbook to ensure that employees follow the stated policies.
- Be knowledgeable of the parent handbook to ensure that parents follow the guidelines.
- Oversee the hiring, training, and correction of LWKA employees.
- Schedule employees hours and approve employee time sheets for payroll.
- Oversee the educational program to ensure that each class is providing age appropriate educational and spiritual training.
- Communicate with parents including giving tours, enrolling new students, child’s progress, informing them of special events and weather related closings.
- Input all required parent and student information in the Brightwheel software management system and execute the billing for tuition, fees and refunds.
- Manage the budget by maximizing enrollment, ensuring families are paying on time, that payroll is at or under budget, and managing operational expenses.
- Purchase snacks, supplies, toys, educational material, and equipment needed in line with the budget.
Skills
- Experience working with children in a daycare or school environment.
- Supervisory skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent administrative skills for effective program management and documentation.
- Proficient in using computers and data entry.
- Strong relationship management skills to foster collaboration among employees.
Education/Experience Required
Must be at least 21 years of age and meet ONE of the following requirements.
* Bachelors degree or higher in early childhood or child development.
* Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one of the following: 1. 4 years of experience in early childhood education, 2. Child Development Associate Credential, 3. Birth - Pre-K Credential.
* Associate degree in early childhood, child development, or a related field, plus 6 years of experience in early childhood education.
* 8 years of experience in early childhood education.
* Current or previous Director with several years of early childhood experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $37,500.00 - $45,000.00 per year
