Summary
Maranatha Christian Academy (MCA) is a private school serving Grades Pre-kindergarten through 12 in Brooklyn Park, MN. Our vision is for every Maranatha student to be highly educated, Christ-centered, and biblically anchored world changers.
MCA has an immediate opening for a full-time college and career counselor. This position is responsible for academically counseling students and providing educational and vocational guidance services.
Essential Duties
- Oversee and cast vision for the college and career counseling program.
- Oversee the Associate of Arts (AA) program and serve as the primary college counselor for all AA students
- Oversee the academic and college counseling for all non-AA students
- Scheduling and class registration for all high school students
- Coordinate and implement all college and career events
- College Prep testing for upper school (Pre-ACT, PSAT, ACT/SAT prep, AP exams, etc.)
- NCAA Clearinghouse advisor
- Advanced Placement (AP) Coordinator
- Update and ensure the accuracy of academic records (transcripts, report cards, graduation requirements, fail list)
- Coordinate the use and implementation of Naviance college and career curriculum for upper school
- Coordinate the application and registration of all PSEO classes
- Develop and oversee all PSEO partnerships with Colleges and Universities
- Summer School (credit recovery)
- Provide oversight in the management of the academic counseling plan as published in the Academic Handbook
- Determine student eligibility (fail list) with the athletic director and other advisors.
- Oversight of the production of honor roll, high honor roll, principals club, and administrative homework certificates.
- Assemble statistical reports, interpret data, and make recommendations as needed (i.e., ACT results)

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two to five years of related experience and/or training in a high school setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
