Maranatha Christian Academy is a private school serving grades Pre-kindergarten through grade 12 in Brooklyn Park, MN. Summary The STEM/Technology Teacher provides innovative instruction for middle school classes such as STEM, Design and Modeling, Foundations of Technology, and other computer science, robotics, and coding courses. Essential Duties (other duties may be assigned)
- In an eight-period schedule, FT staff teach six class periods (given two prep periods) plus an advisory and Character Hour.
- Prepares course objectives and lesson plans, following curriculum guidelines and any requirements or standards of the school and/or state of MN.
- Develop and implement hands-on, project-based learning experiences that promote student inquiry and real-world problem solving.
- Assigns lessons, homework, corrects papers, and hears student presentations
- Prepares, administers, and corrects tests, and records results
- Maintains order inside the classroom and other spaces on campus, as well as off-site school-sponsored activities
- Counsels students when academic and/or behavioral problems arise
- Communicate students' academic progress and behavior with parents
- Keeps attendance and grade records as required by the state and school
- Coordinates class field trips and guest speakers
- Skilled and adaptable in various forms of technology
- Familiarity with coding, robotics, 3D printing, or other Makerspace tools
