Summary
Maranatha Christian Academy is a private school serving grades Pre-kindergarten through grade 12 in Brooklyn Park, MN. We are an influential school of collaborators, innovators and explorers grounded in Christian faith empowering co-creators of tomorrow.
The STEM Teacher provides instruction for classes such as computer sciences, CAD/engineering, coding, robotics, and drone classes. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Essential Duties (other duties may be assigned)
Teaching
- In an eight-period schedule, FT staff teach six class periods (given two prep periods) plus an advisory and Discipleship Group.
- Prepares course objectives and lesson plans, following curriculum guidelines and any requirements or standards of the state of MN and school
- Lectures, demonstrates, and uses audiovisual technology teaching aids to present subject matter to class
- Assigns lessons, homework, corrects papers, and hears oral presentations
- Prepares, administers, and corrects tests, and records results
- Maintains order inside the classroom and other spaces on campus, as well as off-site school-sponsored activities
- Counsels students when academic and/or behavioral problems arise
- Communicate students' academic progress and behavior with parents
- Keeps attendance and grade records as required by MCA
- Completes non-standard information requests for ISP Students (upper school only).
- Coordinates class field trips and guest speakers
- Skilled and adaptable in various forms of technology

Education, Certificates, and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university.
Current MN state teaching license preferred
