Summary
Maranatha Christian Academy (MCA) is a private school serving Grades Pre-kindergarten through 12 in Brooklyn Park, MN. Our vision is for every Maranatha student to be highly educated, Christ-centered, and biblically anchored world changers.
MCA has an opening for an upper school assistant principal for the 2025-26 school year. This position is responsible for the educational and behavioral assistance of upper school students. The position may begin late spring/early summer.
Essential Duties
- Promote and build community among upper school students
- Research best practices for students and develop programs and processes that educate the whole child
- Help develop the upper school chapel programming
- Oversee disciplinary concerns for students and advise/involve the upper school principal as needed
- Monitor student attendance as well as patterns in tardiness or absence
- Monitor detention reports and patterns in detention attendance
- Monitor and meet routinely with students that are on probation and/or behavioral contracts
- Be the contact point for teachers when a behavioral concern arises in their class
- Assess the needs of the student body and make recommendations on how to meet them
- Monitor and address student behaviors and dress code, communicate any concerns with parents in a timely manner
- Supervise students where needed
Supervisory Responsibilities
Indirectly supervises teachers in the school faculty, specifically related to classroom management and adherence to policy. Responsibilities include coaching teachers in classroom management, indirectly appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Qualifications
Preferred Master of Arts in Educational Leadership or similar degree; or three to five years of related experience and Principal Licensure
