Role :
At Livingston County Community Mental Health Authority (LCCMHA), financial integrity is at the heart of our operations. We are seeking an Accounting Coordinator I to play a key role in managing financial processes, overseeing claims, providing utilization reviews on cases, administering grants, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. If you're a detail-driven accounting professional who enjoys problem-solving, optimizing financial workflows, and mentoring others, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
In this role, you will oversee accounting functions such as managing fixed assets, reconciling accounts, posting journal entries, and assisting with audits. You'll also be responsible for grant administration, ensuring that financial reports are accurate, budgets are maintained, and funding is utilized efficiently. Your keen analytical skills will help track spending trends, resolve discrepancies, and communicate with directors and grantors about financial updates.
Additionally, you'll assist with financial reporting, conducting budget-to-actual variance analyses, reviewing balance sheets and cash flow statements, and ensuring proper accruals and reclassifications are recorded. You will also play a crucial role in claims processing, ensuring provider reimbursements are accurate and timely while maintaining proper fee schedules.
Beyond technical accounting duties, this position offers the opportunity to mentor and train team members, provide payroll support, and improve efficiency by developing and documenting new financial procedures. You'll also coordinate with families and agencies regarding Family Support Subsidy applications, ensuring compliance with MDHHS requirements.

Qualifications and Experience :
Strong organizational, analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to work independently.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records.
Proficiency in accounting software and data analysis tools.
Knowledge of mental health service delivery models.
Supervisory experience preferred.
