Superintendent of Livingston County Schools

The Livingston County Board of Education is seeking an innovative and motivational leader with strong proven leadership and a record of improving student achievement as its next superintendent. The successful candidate should have a passion for public education, administrative experience and be an instructional leader who is committed to college and career readiness. It is important for the candidate to have exceptional people skills, promote teamwork, and be curriculum oriented. The candidate needs to be visible and dedicated to the Livingston County community and to the success of the students.  The candidate should possess strong morals, honesty, and integrity. Knowledge of budgeting, school finances, buildings and grounds, along with working knowledge of the Kentucky Education System are required.

Residents and visitors are attracted to Livingston County because of the historic charm of the county seat of Smithland located on the Ohio River, the slower pace of life, and access to a variety of outdoor activities. The people of Livingston County are dedicated to the spirit of their small and welcoming community.  Livingston County connects to Barkley and Kentucky Lakes as well as Land Between the Lakes for those that enjoy the outdoors. Livingston County is also noted for its agriculture but is in close proximity to Paducah, Kentucky that allows residents to enjoy the arts, entertainment, and necessities provided by a larger city. 

The salary will be competitive with the contract to begin no later than July 1, 2025.
