JOB SUMMARY:

Provides operational user support, training, customer service and assistance to all departments. Coordinates issue resolution with financial / records systems and clinical software system provider.

Schedule:

  • 1.0FTE (40 hours)
  • Mon-Fri
  • Call Requirement Rotation

Compensation:

  • $ 25.25 DOE

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for the education and training of staff for supported applications.
  2. Delivers education and training of staff for computer hardware, mobile devices, and telephone system hardware.
  3. Provides user support on software and hardware questions and problems.
  4. Assists computer users in resolving problem situations.
  5. Assists in performing maintenance on computer hardware.
  6. Provides departmental reports in response to management requests.
  7. Performs device setup such as for printers, PCs, mobile devices, telephones, etc.
  8. Interprets I.S. procedures and makes recommendations for revisions.
  9. Communicates updated information to system users at all levels.
  10. Manages the accuracy and currency of the system master files.
  11. Maintains, upgrades, and builds network nodes, infrastructure, connectivity devices, and servers at all levels for both wired and wireless LANs and WAN connectivity.
  12. Performs troubleshooting, configuring, and maintenance of the IP and analog telephone systems, as well as mobile cellular devices and tablets.
  13. Documents all work, including I.S. equipment repairs, maintenance and troubleshooting, and telephone system work.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for presenting to and teaching groups of people.
  2. Provides recommendations for strategies and resource allocation needed to meet system-related goals.
  3. Monitors quality improvement and auditing to insure full compliance with federal and state guidelines.
  4. Regularly covers the I.S. Help Desk phone and assist users with general I.S. issues.
  5. Assumes periodic on-call responsibility, providing after-hours and weekend technical support availability.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Required):

  1. Ability to effectively communicate information to system users at all levels.
  2. Education: BS degree in Information Systems or business field; or, high school diploma and related experience.
  3. Mastery of Microsoft applications including Microsoft Office Suite, Windows Operating systems and internet.
  4. Knowledge of TCP/IP network basic concepts: IP addressing, routing, switching.

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Familiarity with health care financial information systems, (Cerner Revenue Cycle).
  2. Familiarity with electronic medical records systems (Cerner Millenium preferred).
  3. Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA or other industry certifications.
