Description
Job Summary: Cares for patients within the confines of Family Practice on a mid-level healthcare provider status. May serve as a liaison between Medical Doctor/Doctor of Osteopathy and patient. Develop and encourage patient base by providing optimal level of patient care. This position requires specialty training, such as Pediatrics or Acute Care. Promotion of team-oriented atmosphere and willingness to take initiative in maintaining a tidy and safe clinical environment.
Essential Job Functions:
· Cares for patients one-on-one within the confines of Family Practice. May ask for Physician consult.
· Documents details of office visit in a timely, legible manner.
· Responsible for patient follow-up care, when necessary.
· Determines appropriate care plan for patients that may require additional education.
· Chart review for other providers upon their absences.
· Follows directives for Physician staff in clinical matters, and reports to Office Manager/Coordinator or Market Practice Manager for HR matters.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Education: MSN from a NP Program
- Experience: 6 months practical application within realm of NP specialty. 2 years Family Practice clinical experience within the realm of NP specialty preferred.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Tennessee Nurse Practitioner licensure. BLS certification from an approved American Heart Association training center is required to be current upon hire.
· Equipment: All equipment and instruments necessary to care for Family Practice patients.
- Skills: Pleasant demeanor. Extensive knowledge of basic family practice medical complaints. Multi-tasking. Ability to lead assigned nurse in positive direction for optimal patient care. Ability to thrive under pressure, acceptance of patient request for physician opinion, monitoring or patient progress via chart review, overall patient care.
