What You’ll Do
- Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions in AP US and World History.
- Develop and implement personalized lesson plans to meet the individual needs of each student.
- Assist students in understanding historical concepts, preparing for exams, and completing assignments.
- Foster a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
- Communicate regularly with the Livius team to provide updates on progress and address any concerns.
- Utilize various teaching methods and technologies to enhance the learning experience.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
- Ensure that all tutoring sessions meet or exceed Livius’s high-quality standards.
- Prior experience teaching or tutoring in history or a related subject.
- Experience working with high school students, including those with diverse learning needs.
- A creative and professional desire to provide purposeful academic opportunities for all students.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and personal accountability within a team.
- Proven ability to positively impact youth and address the varied needs of students.
- Strong commitment to the Livius Prep mission and culture.
- A BA or advanced specialty training in history or a related field.
- Demonstrated success as an instructor or tutor of high school students in history (volunteer or paid).
- Comfort with technology.
- Ability to clear background checks and a MA CORI check.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Be 21 years of age or older.
