Position Overview:
We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Expeditor to join our team on a part-time basis. The Expeditor will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and efficient procurement, tracking, and delivery of materials, furnishings, and products for our interior design projects. This position is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, an understanding of logistics, builds rapport with vendors, and a passion for supporting creative design processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and monitor orders for furniture, materials, and decor items, ensuring timely delivery to meet project deadlines.
- Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to confirm product availability, lead times, and shipping details.
- Resolve issues related to delays, damaged goods, or incorrect shipments promptly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, shipping schedules, and delivery updates.
- Inspect deliveries to ensure items match order specifications and are in good condition.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating the installation and staging process for design projects.
- Collaborate with the design team to prioritize orders and align procurement with project timelines.
- Provide regular updates on order statuses and logistics to the design and project management teams.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in logistics, procurement, or a related field (experience in interior design or home furnishings is a plus).
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and familiarity with project management tools or software.
- Knowledge of interior design materials, furniture, and vendors is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move items when needed (e.g., assisting with deliveries or installations).
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license for local pickups and deliveries, if required.
