General Responsibilities:
- Schedule and conduct fieldwork in remote locations, traveling with potential overnight lodging
- Interact with individual homeowners on a frequent basis to collect water samples from community water systems.
- Preparation of sampling and water kits prior to sampling events
- Assist with data entry from water sampling events into the LJA company tracking system.
- Collect GIS and GPS data
- Accurately conduct quality assurance and quality control checks on sampling paperwork
- Conduct frequent day travel in company vehicles to sampling locations within the greater Houston/Dallas/San Antonio area.
- Assist with other outdoor fieldwork on other natural resources projects, such as wetland delineations or environmental assessments.
- Familiarize and understand relevant drinking water regulations
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Education:
- Minimum of a high school diploma and must be currently enrolled in a community college or University in an environmental-related field.
Requirements:
- Applicant must be able to lift/carry up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Applicant must be able to work evenings and potentially weekends depending on project needs.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable interacting with homeowners.
- Applicant must be able to travel to locations, hike and conduct fieldwork for long hours, potentially in inclement weather.
- Applicant must possess a valid Texas Driver’s license and a clear motor vehicle record.
- Desired applicant will be organized with a keen attention to detail and be capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
