A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE
Our exciting and entrepreneurial culture will require you to think creatively, solve problems and meet the needs of our clients daily. A typical day might include the following : Performing design calculations, preparing plans, and directing schematic designs for ALDOT and local government projects.Assisting the task leader with project schedules.Using advanced techniques, theory, precepts, and practices.Performing as Asst. Task Leader on major projectsInteracting with staff, clients and other consultants.CAD design of roadway geometric alignments, typical sections, grading, drainage, utilities, traffic control, erosion control and bridge approaches.Generating earthwork cross-sections with MicroStation InRoads and OpenRoadsDesign calculations and "Quantity Take-Offs" for the engineer's estimateReviewing standard construction materials and choosing appropriate specificationsUsing general mathematical skills to manipulate standard design formulas"MUST HAVE" QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience5 years of experience modeling with MicroStation (InRoads or OpenRoads)Some experience handling multiple deadlinesEffective communication skills to engage with project teamsAbility to adapt quickly to changing work assignments and project needs, often on short notice.An open mind to alternative methods from what you have previously been taughtA team attitude.BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE
