Summary: Professional Engineer with a minimum of 7 years site experience, preferably in the Charleston Market. LJA is seeking a candidate with experience in project management, site engineering, business development, team building and project profitability for retail, industrial, institutional, commercial and multifamily projects.
General Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of EIT’s, designers, and/or CAD draftsmen to produce construction plans, exhibits, reports, tables, etc. as may be requested / required by the client. Be responsible for the daily operations and deliverables that may be necessary for the development of various site development projects.
- Supervision of less experienced engineers or technical support personnel is a substantial component at this level.
- Experience in proposal writing and project management.
- Responsible for conceptualizing the initial design approach for a major phases of a large project, or have overall responsibility for the engineering work on a project.
- Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates engineering work involving conventional engineering practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements.
- Coordinate and direct a large scale engineering project or a number of smaller projects with many complex features.
- Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
- Project Manager will interact with Client and other consultants and must have good communication skills or be able and willing to develop such skills.
Required Education/Licenses:
- Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Licensed Professional Engineer or has made application and is awaiting Registration.
Required Experience:
- 7 years of post-graduate experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to build strong relationships
- Experienced in Client Management
