Summary: The Vice President of engineering manages and directs corporate engineering for the transportation division. The priorities for this position include strategic planning, product design, quality assurance and problem resolution. The vice president of engineering must execute product design to meet company objectives, collaborate with management and develop systems and controls to ensure compliance with quality standards.
General Responsibilities:
- Building relationships and growing business in the transportation sector.
- Develop business by a marketing company to existing clients and as well identifying and marketing to new clients.
- Meeting with cities, counties and local agencies for business development purposes.
- Support technical efforts for business development such as preparation of responses to RFPs and SOQs, the preparation for presentations, and interfacing/coordinating the efforts of the office.
- Developing scope, budget, and schedule.
- Managing design team's performance on assigned projects.
- Develops intermediate and long-range plans for systems operation, maintenance, and expansion to ensure adequate services to customers.
- Reviews and recommends payment for damage claims against the company to ensure company position is consistent and legally defensible.
- Reviews major work orders. Approves and justify construction budgets and operations budgets. Prepares reports for and advises the President and Boards on a regular basis regarding activities of the department.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
Required Experience:
- P.E. License
- 8 year’s managerial experience
- 8 years of experience in transportation engineering
- Proficiency in appropriate software for the market
- Excellent attention to detail and impeccable work ethic
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
