Summary: LJA is seeking a skilled GIS Analyst to support our GIS Team in the Houston office. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working with ESRI products: ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, 3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst.
General Responsibilities:
- Utilize GIS tools and techniques to analyze, manage, and visualize data.
- Create cartographic products using established standards.
- Assist with the maintenance of GIS databases.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to contribute to the planning and decision-making processes.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in GIS.
- Data analysis tasks include data reprojection, and classifications from post-processed LiDAR datasets.
- Facilitate data integration, classification, and feature extractions for a variety of engineering applications.
- Responsible for the Quality Assurance /Quality Control of LiDAR derived products, produced for multiple internal and external groups.
- Use best GIS practices and principles as related to raster data principles.
- Comprehensive understanding of coordinate systems and other geodetic principles.
- Strong communication skills

- Prepared to work in a fast-paced office environment, with evolving priorities
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, or related field.
Required Experience:
- 2 years of hands-on experience working with ESRI products: ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, 3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex spatial data.
- Strong listening, writing and verbal communication skills.
- Proven work history, strong work ethic and team-player attitude.
- Experience with programming languages is a plus.
- Experience interfacing with surveyors, engineers, and GIS professionals.
