Summary: Senior electrical designer experienced in developing design packages for electrical and control systems in coordination with an experienced team of electrical drafters, designers, and engineers for pipeline facilities and infrastructure projects using AutoCAD, MicroStation V8 or newer, and other software programs in a fast-paced project-centric environment.
General Responsibilities:
- Develop and review design packages including equipment layout plans, conduit and cable schedules, hazardous area plans, grounding plans, and wiring diagrams and schematics with minimal supervision.
- Proficiently use and apply design standards such as NFPA 70 NEC when developing and reviewing design packages.
- Gather the electrical design responsibility for power and control points through meetings with engineers and project managers and by reviewing project documentation.
- Create drawings and documents by utilizing advanced tools and features such as external references, dynamic blocks, functions, and formulas in AutoCAD, MicroStation V8 (or newer).
- Work on multiple projects at a time within a fast-paced environment and prioritize workload to deliver design packages on time under tight deadlines.
- Understand and adhere to internal and external drafting and design standards and procedures to deliver high quality work.
Required Education/Certifications:
- Formal training in AutoCAD, MicroStation V8 (or newer) with certification or degree and a minimum of ten years of professional full-time AutoCAD and MicroStation design experience
- MUST have recent MicroStation experience
Required/Preferred Experience:
- Working in an office environment coordinating between drafters, designers, and engineers in multiple design disciplines including civil and piping
- Past or current work experience in an engineering firm in an electrical and controls capacity within the midstream oil and gas or similar industry
- Preferred experience working in a 3D environment within AutoCAD and experience using Bentley MicroStation to create electrical design packages
