We are currently seeking a full-time Professional Engineer / Professional Surveyor for our Transportation team. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of progressive experience and possess the professional and interpersonal skills to make a positive impact on our firm and clients.
Annual Compensation: $102,000-135,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER / PROFESSIONAL SURVEYOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Project management responsibilities including:
- Preparing scopes of work and estimates for engineering and survey projects.
- Developing project quality control and quality assurance processes.
- Planning, scheduling and coordinating technical aspects of projects.
- Performing professional review of project deliverables.
- Having excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate
effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients and stakeholders.
- Engaging regularly with clients to discuss current projects, evaluate performance and
identify other client project needs.
- Perform analysis for complex boundary surveys and prepare associated plats and boundary descriptions.
- Perform advanced calculations involving field survey data.
- Prepare surveyor’s reports, legal descriptions, closure calculations and other documentation as required.
- Use Civil 3D to design and produce drawings.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of the client’s standards.
- Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and conditions.
Professional Engineer / Professional Surveyor Additional Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ability to analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D required; Bentley OpenRoads Designer preferred.
- Working knowledge of field instrumentation, GPS and robotic total stations.
- Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment and innovative ideas.
- Some regional travel possible.
- Other duties as assigned.
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER / PROFESSIONAL SURVEYOR ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required
- PE and PS required
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience
- Experience with ODOT survey and right-of-way standards preferred
