Survey Cad Technician Essential Functions
- Transform raw field survey data into high-quality CAD drawings—such as topographic maps, boundary surveys, and right-of-way exhibits--while adhering to industry standards, client specifications, and internal quality benchmarks.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously refine standardized CAD templates, layering systems, and annotation guidelines to ensure consistent quality, increased efficiency, and ease of data management across all projects.
- Lead the implementation of rigorous quality checks on completed CAD deliverables, identifying and resolving discrepancies before release and proactively recommending workflow enhancements to minimize errors, reduce rework, and improve overall production timelines.
- Collaborate closely with field survey teams to review data collection methodologies, suggest improvements for data accuracy and clarity, and streamline the handoff of collected information—ultimately enhancing the reliability and usability of project inputs.
SURVEY CAD TECHNICIAN ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:
- 15 years of hands-on experience in CAD, Civil3D, Microstation, TBC, or other similar drafting and design platforms while proving success in maintaining cohesive CAD standards.
- At least 5 years of practical field surveying experience, ensuring a thorough understanding of data collection techniques, instrumentation, and best practices that inform accurate and efficient CAD conversion.
- Demonstrated track record of implementing and managing QA/QC protocols, identifying systemic issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance deliverable quality and project workflow.
