Professional Engineer / Professional Surveyor

We are currently seeking a full-time Professional Engineer / Professional Surveyor for our Transportation team. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of progressive experience and possess the professional and interpersonal skills to make a positive impact on our firm and clients.

Annual Compensation: $105,000-140,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER / PROFESSIONAL SURVEYOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Project management responsibilities including:
  • Preparing scopes of work and estimates for engineering and survey projects.
  • Developing project quality control and quality assurance processes.
  • Planning, scheduling and coordinating technical aspects of projects.
  • Performing professional review of project deliverables.
  • Having excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients and stakeholders.
  • Engaging regularly with clients to discuss current projects, evaluate performance and identify other client project needs.

• Perform analysis for complex boundary surveys and prepare associated plats and boundary descriptions.
• Perform advanced calculations involving field survey data.
• Prepare surveyor’s reports, legal descriptions, closure calculations and other documentation as required.
• Use Civil 3D to design and produce drawings.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of the client’s standards.
• Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and conditions.

Professional Engineer / Professional Surveyor Additional Responsibilities and Duties:

• Ability to analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D required; Bentley OpenRoads Designer preferred.
• Working knowledge of field instrumentation, GPS and robotic total stations.
• Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment and innovative ideas.
• Some regional travel possible.
• Other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER / PROFESSIONAL SURVEYOR ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required
• PE and PS required

Qualifications:

• 10 years of experience
• Experience with ODOT survey and right-of-way standards preferred
