Oracle Database Administrator – Enterprise Application Support
Location: Hybrid – Local to Austin, TX Only
Target Start Date: June 2, 2025
A leading government IT team is seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator to provide operational and performance support for enterprise-scale application databases. This role involves collaboration with development and warehouse teams, managing backups, resolving performance issues, and enhancing database designs. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience with Oracle environments, performance tuning, and on-call production support.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting critical enterprise Oracle databases across production, development, and UAT environments
Monitoring performance, resolving locking issues, and executing database optimization
Coordinating data backup, recovery, and monitoring strategies
Generating statistics and performing scripting for database tables and schemas
Collaborating with data warehouse teams on query and access needs
Creating and maintaining logical and physical data models, particularly for Oracle
Ensuring data security, integrity, and accessibility standards are followed
Providing on-call support and assisting with database migration efforts
Supporting compliance with EIR Accessibility standards and assistive technologies
What You Bring to the Table
6 years of hands-on experience with Oracle database design, performance tuning, and support
Deep expertise in Oracle stored procedures, functions, and physical/logical modeling
Experience with Agile SDLC and multi-tier system architecture (SOA, Microservices)
Strong background in technical documentation and enterprise application design
Experience working with complex data models and performance-heavy environments
Preferred experience with data warehousing, Jira, and Oracle certification
