Lincoln Land Community College is currently accepting applications for 2 temporary, contractual Grounds Maintenance Workers to assist in overseeing the campus grounds by maintaining, cleaning and caring for lawns, parking lots, roadways, sidewalks, athletic fields, flowerbeds, shrubs and trees.This contractual, non-benefited position is for 27 hours per week for a period of up to 6 months. Work shift will be Monday through Thursday, 6:30AM-1:45PM. Pay will be no less than $20.00 per hour.Responsibilities for this position will include the following:Irrigate, trim, edge, aerate and mow lawns and turfed areasEstablish new lawns, plant trees, shrubs, hedges, and flowersPerform a variety of general maintenance duties; install campus signs; set up and take down folding chairs; staging for campus events; set up and remove barricades and traffic cones; and moving furniture and other equipmentRemove trash, clippings, trimmings and leaves from parking lots, sidewalks, and groundsAssist in the performance of routine maintenance of equipment, including changing of oil, greasing, sharpening of blades, restringing weed eaters, and making repairs on grounds keeping equipmentAssist with preventative maintenance and repair work on parking lots, roads and sidewalksOperate motorized equipment, including trucks, tractors, riding and push mowers, chainsaws, weed eaters, and edgersRemove snow and ice from sidewalks, parking lots and roadsMaintain cleanliness of vehicles, equipment, and work areasThe Paid Leave for All Workers Act allows part-time employees to earn 1 hour of PTO for every 40 hours worked.
