Lincoln Land Community College is currently accepting applications for a Driving Instructor for the Truck Driving Training Program to provide a variety of teaching/learning activities that prepare students for the class A-commercial driver’s license (CDL) examination and an entry-level position in the trucking industry.Instructors will perform the following duties:Teach classroom portion of the Truck Driver Training Program, including permits, logbooks and trip planning.Teach hands on portion of the Truck Driver Training Program, including backing, shifting, and behind the wheel.Maintain student files in compliance with ICCB and IL Secretary of State Standards.Maintain Truck Driver Training Program equipment.Monitor inventory of training supplies, ordering when needed.Train new consultants to be effective instructors.Evaluate and grade students throughout the program.Maintain relationships with employers in the trucking industry and assist with the recruitment of students.This is a part-time, non-benefited position and starting pay will be $18.00/hr and no more than 27 hours a week.The Paid Leave for All Workers Act allows part-time employees to earn 1 hour of PTO for every 40 hours worked.
