Pay Rate
$79,380 - $97,200 Annually

Job Description
We have an openings for an Information Media Technician. You will provide technical administrative support in the successful gathering, transporting, processing, indexing, packaging, and storage of the preservation of historic legacy information assets. You will support the Engineering Record Center (ERC) Special Projects group in interacting with principal contributors in accomplishing information media work objectives, making historical information digitally available for downstream activities associated with Enterprise Lifecycle Management Unclassified & Classified (ELM-U/C), Document Management System (DMS), and DSpace System to provide access and re-analysis. The positions are in the Knowledge Management program (Classified Digitization Program; Engineering Records Center) within the Strategic Deterrence (SD) directorate and will report to the Engineering Record Center (ERC) Classified Digitization Program Manager (CDPM).
These positions may offer a hybrid schedule, which includes the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week, after a probationary period. The specifics of the hybrid schedule, including the exact number of days required in the office and virtual work options, may vary based on the needs of the team and the organization.
In this role, you will
- Perform routine operational activities following established procedures related to equipment functionality, task throughput relating to Engineering Record Center (ERC) scanning, indexing, and reproduction.
- Process various media types of paper and film for digital extraction of content supporting search and retrieval activities.
- Operate computers which include several application software programs, data entry, query, word processing, file management, and image manipulation.
- Operate film and paper scanning equipment using application software to retrieve data/images for archival and reproduction purposes.
- Track and report digitization metric efforts weekly and communicate with Classified Digitization Program Manager (CDPM) to provide status of special projects and operation activities.
- Provide customer service, document records management guidance, associated with customer activities supporting programmatic mission deliverables.
- Provide quality control relative to ISO9000 quality management principles.
- Support plans to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top Secret clearance issued by another U.S. government agency at the time of hire.
- Basic knowledge of personal computer application software and web-based software.
- Basic knowledge of and experience operating film/paper scanning reproduction equipment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment operation supporting digital data, film handling, printing and scanning practices.
- Experience solving basic technical problems.
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills required for regular interaction with co-workers, skilled technical printing and/or digital media equipment operators, external organizations, and immediate supervisors.
- Knowledge of ISO9000 quality management principles.

Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities require separate approval. Hearing aids without wireless capabilities or wireless that has been disabled are allowed in Limited Areas, Secure Space and Transit/Buffer Space within buildings.
