Due to our rapid growth, we are seeking a reliable and ambitious Accounting Clerk to provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks.
In this part-time position, you will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency of financial records. The ideal candidate will preferrably be in the process of or have completed a 2-year degree in accounting and have the desire to learn basic accounting principles, be able to work comfortably with numbers and have a high attention to detail.
Main Job Tasks & Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and analysis
- Manage day to day financial operating records of each property
- Review and post property cash receipts
- Manage cash flow appropriately to pay property expenses
- Approve and process payables
- Manage tenant changes, payments, and adjustments
- Provide back up support to other Accountants
- Assist Property Managers with account related questions or concerns
- Assist Property Owners and agents regarding financial data
- Maintain financial compliance with MHFA, HUD, Rural Development, etc when required
- Assist with outside auditors and special projects as needed
- Assist with preparation of annual property budgets
- Maintain filing and record keeping for each assigned property
- Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned
Education and Experience
- In process of, or completed 2-year degree in accounting, preferred
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures
- Proficient with computer applications and software

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- High accountability and attention to detail
Requirements
- Valid US driver's license
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Ability to pass criminal background check
