Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of our facility, ensuring accurate inventory control, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems and possess strong mathematical skills to facilitate order processing.
Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Process outgoing shipments, ensuring all orders are packed correctly and shipped on time.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory levels and manage stock.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, and pallet jacks safely.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using RF scanners or AS400 systems.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow in the distribution center.
- Perform regular inventory counts and assist in reconciling discrepancies.
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a clean and organized work area.
Experience
- Previous experience in a shipping/receiving or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and material requirements planning (MRP).
- Proficiency in operating RF scanners and material handling equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, and pallet jacks.
- Basic math skills for accurate inventory tracking and order processing.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
